Message from the President
Arabela Lagdamen Dimazana (2026-2027)
Welcome Speech from the Black & White Gala

Good evening, distinguished guests, community leaders, sponsors, members, friends, and family.

Magandang gabi po sa inyong lahat.

On behalf of the Filipino-American Organization, it is my great honor and pleasure to welcome you all to our Black & White Ball and Induction of New Officers for the years 2026-2027.

Tonight is a celebration of unity and purpose. The Black and White theme beautifully reflects harmony — different shades coming together to create something timeless and powerful. It reminds us that even in contrast, there is balance; even in difference, there is strength. In the same way, our community thrives because of the diversity of experiences, generations, and stories that each of us brings.
This evening is not only about celebration, but also about transition and commitment — a moment where we honor the past, embrace the present, and step boldly into the future.

We gather to formally induct our new set of officers — individuals who have stepped forward with hearts ready to serve, lead, and uplift our organization. Leadership is not simply a title; it is a great and solemn responsibility. It requires dedication, humility, integrity, and vision. Our incoming officers embody these qualities, and we are confident that they will lead with purpose and guide our organization to even greater heights.

To our outgoing officers, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your hard work, sacrifices, and unwavering commitment have strengthened our foundation and paved the way for continued growth. Because of all of you, and all of our elders who started this organization back in 1967, we stand stronger tonight. Your legacy of service has prepared us for this very moment. With this new beginning, we look forward to many more years, with future generations continuing this legacy.

To my fellow new officers: as we take our oath later, let us all remember that LEADERSHIP is SERVICE in its purest form. It is about empowering others, preserving our rich Filipino heritage, and fostering a sense of belonging for Filipino-Americans and friends of our community. May we lead with compassion, courage, and collaboration.

The Filipino spirit is rooted in bayanihan — the spirit of communal unity and cooperation. It is rooted in resilience, pride in our Filipino culture, and love for family and community. It is the quiet strength that carries us through challenges and the joyful spirit that brings us together in celebration. May this spirit continue to guide everything we do.

Tonight, let us celebrate not only the achievements of our organization, but also the promise of its future—especially as we look forward to our 60th Anniversary next year. Let us dance, connect, and reaffirm our shared mission to uplift our community, honor our Filipino heritage, and continue supporting and granting scholarships to deserving senior high school students—ensuring a bright future for generations of Filipino Americans in the City of Livermore.

This organization is very close to my heart and to our family, as two of my sons were former LFA scholars, and all three of them are currently active members of the LFA Dance Troupe. We are forever grateful to this organization, as well as to its senior leaders, for their unwavering commitment to guiding and supporting us, and for paving the way for us to thrive in today’s world. For my family, this organization is not just a community—it is our home.

Maraming salamat po for being here and for your continued support. May tonight inspire us, unite us, and remind us of the incredible strength we share.

Pinoy ako, Pinoy Tayo! Mabuhay ang Filipino-American Organization! Mabuhay tayong lahat! Enjoy the evening.
