PURPOSE

The purpose of the Livermore Filipino-American Organization, Inc. Scholarship Award is to provide recognition and encouragement to the children of the organization's members to pursue higher education at an accredited college or university. 

 

AWARDS / AMOUNT

Three one-time non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to qualified high school seniors. The first place winner will receive $1000.00, the second place $750.00 and the third place $500.00. In addition, Honorable Mention awards will be handed to those not in the top three placements. The scholarship awards are to be used only for tuition, fees, or supplies.

 

ELIGIBILITY

Each applicant must be a current Fil-Am member or a child of a current Fil-Am member. Applicants must be a current high school senior at Livermore High School, Granada High School, Del Valle Continuation High School or Vineyard Alternative School.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

• Academic history and accomplishments

• Extra-curricular activities, honors, and qualifications

• Essay

• Letter(s) of recommendation

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

• A completed application form

• A complete copy of official high school transcript

• A copy of SAT/ACT report

• A 250-500 word essay with the following  topic: “Growing Up As a Filipino-American”
